4 killed in separate accidents in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, May 22, 2021 (BSS) – Four people were killed and four others received injuries in separate accidents in the district today.
The dead were identified as Shariful Islam, 45, Md. Sajib, 30, Atiqur Rahman, 26 and Dulal Mia, 35.
In the first incident, three people were killed and four others received injuries when a rice-laden truck capsized at Shitalpur area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway under Sitakunda upazila of the district at 10 am today.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Baraulia Highway Police, said when the truck capsized at the said area, Sajib died on the spot and six others received injuries.
Locals brought them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital but the attending doctors declared Shariful and Atiqur Rahman died after admission, he added.
Meanwhile, Dulal Mia was electrocuted while repairing the residence of his father-in-law at Natunpara village under Sitakunda upazila at 11 am today.
Sitakunda Model thana Police Inspector (Investigation) Sumon Banik confirmed the death of the four.
