GAIBANDHA, May 21, 2021 (BSS) – The police arrested seven gamblers from Maddya Khatiyamari char area under Fulchhari upazila in the district yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted the raid at the house of one Rezaul Karim of the char and held seven gamblers while they were gambling at the house, police sources said.
The arrested are identified as Azizul Islam, 28, Saddam Hossain, 30, Ahammad Ali, 35, Abu Taleb Miah, 37, Khalilur Rahman, 38, Rasul Sheikh, 28, and Anisur Rahman, 40.
Six more gamblers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of police.
A case was filed in this connection.
