Truck helper killed, driver injured in Rajshahi road accident
RAJSHAHI, May 21, 2021 (BSS) – A truck helper was killed and driver sustained injuries as the vehicle skidded off the road and rammed into a roadside tree here early this morning.
Quoting locals, Mahbub Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Damkura Police Station, said the accident occurred in Kasba area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Paba Upazila around 5.45 am.
The deceased was identified as Iman Ali, 35, and the wounded driver Faisal Hossain was undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital till filing of this report at 12.15 noon.
The OC said the paddy-laden truck heading to Chapainawabganj veered off the road and rammed into roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering killing the helper on the spot.
Being informed, police and firemen rushed to the spot and rescued the driver who were trapped inside the truck.
