Asian Continental Individual Chess begins tomorrow

DHAKA, May 20, 2021 (BSS)- The Asian Continental Individual Chess Championship will begin tomorrow (Friday) at 12 pm (BST), said a Bangladesh Chess Federation press release today.

The event is qualifying of the FIDE World Cup Chess 2021 to be held in Sochi, Russia from July 10.

Five players from Bangladesh are participating in this event. They are Grandmaster Niaz Morshed, Grandmaster Enamul Hossain Razib, International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, International Master Abu Sufian Shakil and FIDE Master Subrata Biswas.

The players will play their game on tornelo chess platform from Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room. The matches of this event will be held according to the standard chess time.

A total 85 players including 20 Grandmasters, one Women Grandmaster, twenty one International Masters, four Women International Masters from fifteen countries of Asia are participating in the championship. The top seven players from this event will have the opportunity to participate in the FIDE World Cup Chess 2021.

The winners’ of the championship will be awarded U$$ sixteen thousand as cash prize.
