4 killed in Feni road accident
FENI, May 19, 2021 (BSS) – Four people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Shubhpur Bariapul area on the Dhaka-Chittagong old highway under Chhagalnaiya upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased were identified as Md Arifur Rahman, of Jorarganj in Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong, Hajera Begum, wife of Gofran Miah, of Joydevpur village under Chhagalnaiya upazila, Kazi Shahidul Islam, 60, resident of Jagannath Sonapur village under the upazila and Nurul Islam, 55, resident of Amtali area in Sakhipur of Tangail district.
The accident occurred when a Korerhat-bound CNG coming from Chhagalnaiya collided head-on with a pickup, coming from the opposite direction, in the area around 11 am, leaving two persons dead on the spot and four others critically injured.
Later, the injured were sent to Feni Sadar Hospital where two succumbed to their injuries, Dr. Saifur Rahman told BSS.
Wounded CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Ayub, 28, was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhagalnaiya Police Station Shahidul Islam confirmed.
