2,462 cases filed for traffic rule violation
DHAKA, July 22, 2018 (BSS) – Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) in their simultaneous drives on the city streets on Saturday
filed 2,462 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule
violation.
It also realized around Taka 15 lakh as fine from owners, said an official
release.
Of the total cases, 227 cases were lodged for driving on wrong sides, 24
for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and eight
others for using tinted glass.
Some 31 cases, including 21 video cases, were registered against drivers
of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while
they were driving.
It also dumped 18 vehicles and wrecked 562 others.
Besides, 708 cases were filed against motorcycles and 60 motorbikes were
seized for the traffic rule violations.
