Sheikh Hasina takes AL to power for four times with affection of
mother: Hasan

DHAKA, May 17, 2021 (BSS) – Information and Broadcasting Minister
Dr Hasan Mahmud today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took Awami
League to power for four times like fatherless child in the affection
of a mother after returning to the Bangladesh’s soil which is stained
with Bangabandhu’s blood.

“According to the planning ministry, I, on the homecoming day of
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, would like to
inform you that the per capita income of Bangladesh has been increased
when the income has been declined about all countries during the
COVID-19 situation,” he said.

“The per capita income has increased to USD 2,227 from USD 2,064
which is one of the biggest achievements for us,” the minister said
while exchanging views with journalists marking the Homecoming Day of
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the meeting
room of his ministry at Secretariat in the capital.

Hasan said Bangladesh’s position is third in producing paddy across
the globe under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
while the position is fourth in producing freshwater fish, seventh in
producing potato and fourth in producing vegetables.

He said justice has been established in the country under the
supervision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The verdict of
Bangabandhu assassination was implemented and the verdict of war
criminals has also been implemented, said Hasan, also AL joint general
secretary.

The minister said democracy which was detained at cantonment was
freed and the rights of votes and foods have been established by her
(Sheikh Hasina).

Replying to a query over the Israeli attacks on Palestine, Hasan
said, “We have witnessed that the international human rights
organisations are silent while Israeli forces are killing common
people including children and women in Palestine. They could not see
the autocracy when every media are focusing their (Israeli) brutality.
Even, they didn’t give any statement,” he added.

The minister said the Amnesty International gave statements in
favour of the war criminals of Bangladesh. Even, they gave statement
in favour of Shahidul Haque, he added.

But, he said, the organisation didn’t give any statement in the
incident of the crimes against humanity in Palestine. A deputy
director of their Middle-East and North Africa region spoke to a news
agency, but they have no official statement, he added.

Criticising a comment of BNP secretary general, the minister said he
(Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir) is talking these in everyday and raising
allegations against the government. His statement is nothing but
continuity of his daily statement, he added.

Hasan said the law enforcers are working to provide security of the
lives and properties. But, BNP and their friends are creating obstacle
in providing security to the people, he added.
