JAMALPUR, May 17, 2021 (BSS)- Three persons were electrocuted and two others injured in Shyamganj Kalibari area under Madarganj upazila of the district this morning.
The victims were identified as Raju, 36, resident of CharLotabar village, Mintu, 37, resident of Birlotabar village and Ilim Uddin, 65, resident of Hutbari village under the upazila.
Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Jamalpur Palli Bidyut Samity Md. Jasim Uddin said the incident occurred when five people were carrying a tin-made fence in Shamganj Kalibari Bazar area around 9.30 am.
“They came in contact with a live electric line when they lifted the fence overhead,” he said, adding that all three of them were electrocuted and died on the spot two others injured.
General Manager (GM) of Jamalpur Palli Bidyut Samity Md Aamgir said a three-member probe committee was formed to investigate the matter.
