16067 tons of boro procurement target in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, May 16, 2021 (BSS)- Food Department has launched a drive to procure 16067 tons of Boro paddy from farmers in the district this year.
According to the Office of the District Food Controller farmers already sold 62 tons of boro paddy to the food department till today.
The office said 4386 MT paddy will be procured from farmers in Jamalpur Sadar Upazila while 2207 MT paddy in Sarishabari ,1141 MT in Dewanganj, 1994 MT in Islampur, 2605 MT in Melandah, 1985 MT in Madarganj and 1749 MT in Bakshiganj Upazila.
The food office said a farmer can sell per kilogram paddy at TK 27.
The office said the Boro paddy procurement began on April 28 and will continue till August 16 this year.
