Nine more reported COVID-19 positive in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, May 15, 2021 (BSS) – Nine more people were diagnosed with
coronavirus positive today in Rangpur division.

“The nine new cases were reported after diagnosing 103 samples
today at two COVID-19 laboratories at the daily infection rate of 8.74
percent,” said Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director
(Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui.

Among the nine new patients diagnosed today, three were reported
positive after diagnosing 64 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at
Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.

“The three new patients include one from Gaibandha and two from
Kurigram districts,” Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi
Lyzu said.

On the other hand, six new patients were reported after diagnosing
39 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College
(MARMC) in Dinajpur today.

“The six new patients include five from Dinajpur and one from
Nilphamari districts,” Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Syed Nazir
Hossain told BSS.

Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for
Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui told BSS that the number of COVID-19
patients reached 18,323 as nine new positive cases were reported today
from across the division.

“The district-wise break up of 18,323 infected patients stands at
4,784 in Rangpur, 832 in Panchagarh, 1,552 in Nilphamari, 1,049 in
Lalmonirhat, 1,177 in Kurigram, 1,651 in Thakurgaon, 5,550 in Dinajpur
and 1,728 in Gaibandha of the division,” he added.
