20 fined for breaching COVID-19 safety rules in Cumilla

CUMILLA, May 13, 2021 (BSS) – Separate mobile courts of the district administration fined Taka 2,500 to 20 people in various shopping malls and different areas in the city for breaching Covid-19 safety rules to prevent coronavirus infection.

According to the district administration sources, separate teams conducted the raids in various shopping malls including Badurtala and Kandirpar areas of the district town, and fined Taka 2,500 to 20 people for not wearing masks, not maintaining social distance and violating the rules of the ongoing lockdown.

Executive magistrate of the district administration Umme Muslima led the operation teams this morning.

The mobile courts also distributed masks free of cost among the poor and helpless people.

Executive magistrate Umme Muslima told BSS that the district administration is conducting mobile courts to create awareness among the people about the spread of COVID-19.

The mobile court will continue to prevent anti-lockdown activities, she added.
