4 remanded over raping teenagers in Keraniganj
DHAKA, May 12, 2021 (BSS) -A Dhaka court has remanded four people for two days in a rape case of two teenagers in South Keraniganj.
They were Asif, Apu, Rifat and Fahim.
Today, after a three-day remand, four of them were produced in the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court.
In the interest of proper investigation, the investigating officer of the case applied for remand of each accused for five days.
After the hearing, Dhaka Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajib Hossain granted remand for two days to each of them.
Earlier on Sunday, four accused were produced before the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court.
After the hearing, Dhaka Senior Chief Judicial Magistrate Begum Mishkat Shukrana granted remand for three days each.
According to the case, the two victims went to the market in Abdullahpur area of Keraniganj for Eid shopping on Friday evening.
Ashik, a friend of one of them, found out and went to Abdullahpur area to meet them. Ashik told them to go for a walk and took them to a hut in a barren place in Rajabari.
Eight others were waiting at the place from before. At one stage, they raped the victims by turn.
After being released from there, the victims went home at around 10 pm and informed the family about the incident.
Two separate cases have been registered with the South Keraniganj Police Station against nine.
