PM allocates Tk 5000 for each non-MPO teacher, Tk 2,500 for staffer
DHAKA, May 12, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today allocated Taka 74.817 crore as special grants to provide financial assistance to 167,225 teachers and staffers of schools, colleges and madrasahs out of the government’s Monthly Payment Order (MPO) to minimise their hardship due to closure of the educational institutions amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Every non-MPO teacher will get a one-time grant of Tk 5,000 and each staffer will get Tk 2,500, according to an official release of the Press Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The Prime Minister has allocated Tk 46.633 crore against the Directorate of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education for its 1,05,785 non-MPO teachers and staffers while Tk 28.184 crore against Technical and Madrasah Education Division for its 61,440 non-MPO teachers and staffers.
