Arambagh finally breaks jinx

DHAKA, May 11, 2021 (BSS)- Arambagh Krira Sangha finally broke the jinx as they came from behind to record their first win in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football beating Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 3-1 goals held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.

In the day’s match, foreign recruit Abdukodirov, midfielder Umor Faruk and forward Nihat Zaman Ucchash scored one goal each for Arambagh while Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe scored the lone goal for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.

Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe put Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club ahead in the 15th minute while Abdukodirov restored the parity for Arambagh Krira Sangha in the 45+1st minute of the match.

After resumption, Arambagh, who are at high risk of relegation from the premier league, came to the field with a more organized way and scored two more goals to secure their much-expected win on the day.

Midfielder Umar Faruk put Arambagh ahead scoring the second goal in the 54th minute while Ucchash sealed the victory scoring the third goal for Arambagh in the 57th minute of the match.

Sheikh Jamal however tried heart and soul to stage a fight in the remaining proceeding but failed to convert any lack of proper finishing.

Arambagh dominated the proceeding, especially they flared up in the second half and notched their day’s victory while Sheikh Jamal were off-colored.

With the day’s win, bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha secured five points from 16 matches while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club remained at their previous credit of 32 points from 15 outings.

Sheikh Jamal,who stand at third position in the points table, tasted their first defeat in the league, fell further behind in the title race losing the day’s match.
