Rajshahi district AL president Meraj Uddin Molla passes away
DHAKA, May 10, 2021 (BSS) – Meraj Uddin Molla, valiant freedom fighter and Rajshahi district unit Awami League President, died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital here while undergoing treatment around 9.30pm on Sunday.
He was 76, family sources said.
Meraj Uddin Molla was the chairman of Naohata Union Parishad after Independence, twice the chairman of Paba Upazila Parishad and became an MP of Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) constituency in 2008.
He left behind his wife, four sons, three daughters, a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
In a condolence message, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Meraj Uddin Molla.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
