Two cases of COVID-19 Indian variant confirmed in Bangladesh

DHAKA, May 8, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh confirmed two positive cases of COVID-19 Indian variant while four more cases are close to Indian variant.

“Among the eight people, who entered Bangladesh from India, six have been reported coronavirus positive…two were confirmed COVID-19 Indian variant while four are close to Indian variant,” Additional Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)
Prof Nasima Sultana told a press briefing here today.

Samples of eight people have been tested by IEDCR (Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research) and Jashore University of Science and Technology, she said, adding both IEDCR and Jashore University of Science and Technology found two cases of Indian variant and four are very close to Indian variant.

Nasima said, “All of the six coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment….health conditions of them are stable.”
