500 Vedic families get food in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, May 6, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 500 Vedic families were given food items under the management of Dhaka Range DIG of Bangladesh Police Habibur Rahman in collaboration with Jhenaidah District Police to mitigate their sufferings in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in Kaliganj upazila of the district today.

Additional Superintendent of Police Anwar Sayed distributed the food items at a function held at Kashipur and Barbazar Vedic palli of Kaliganj upazila of the district this noon as the chief guest.

Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Bashar of Jhenaidah Sadar Circle, Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman Miah, Second Officer of Kaliganj Police Station Manjurul Islam, journalists and local dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Sayed said the Jhenaidah district police administration provided the food items as a part of the instant humanitarian support.

Under the programme, each of the 500 Vedic families was given rice, pulse, oil, potato, dates, semai, sugar and soap including masks, the sources said.
