90.47 per cent COVID-19 patients cured in Khulna
KHULNA , May 06, 2021 (BSS) – With decreasing trend in the daily number of COVID-19 infections in recent days, the recovery rate also continued to rise and currently stands at 90.20 percent in Khulna division.
“A total of 28,642 COVID-19 patients out 31,658 have been healed up till Wednesday at the recovery rate of 90.47 percent,” Divisional Director (Health) , Khulna division Dr. Rasheda Sultana told BSS today.
The 28,642 recovered COVID-19 patients include 8,043 in Khulna, 5,782 in Jashore 4,381 in Kushtia 2,547 in Jhenaidah, 1,743 in Chuadanga, 1,733 in Narail, 1272 in Bagerhat, 1206, in Satkhira, 1139 in Magura, and 796 in Meherpur districts.
Talking to BSS, Assistant Director (Health) Dr. Ferdoushi Akter said 149 more COVID-19 infected patients were recovered in last 24 hours till today noon raising their total number to 28,642 in all ten districts of Khulna division.
Health officials said the total number of infected patients climbed to 31,658 as 72 new people were reported positive after testing 186 samples at COVID-19 Laboratories in Khulna and others samples were collected from two PCR labs in the divisionin last 24 hour till today’s noon.
Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, 38 in Khulna, 11 in Jashore, seven in Kushtia, five in Jhenidah, three each in Meherpur and Chuadanga, two each in Magura and Satkhra and one in Bagerhat districts in the division.
She said all the positive cases for COVID-19 have, so far, been, 75,126 brought under necessary treatment others are being monitored in isolation units in 14 different hospitals under institutional supervision and another 74,314 were’ released.
The district-wise break up of the patients stands at 9,296 in Khulna, 6,426 in Jashore, 4,647 in Kushtia, 2,779in Jhenaidah, 1,872 in Chuadanga, 1,817 in Narail, 1,393 in Bagerhat, 1,284 in Satkhira, and 916 in Meherpur districts.
“Among the total 31,658 coronavirus infected persons, 3942 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 28,642 have recovered and ‘584 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi said.
With two more death in Jhenidah and Khulna, the total number of fatalities now reached 584 in the division.
“The district-wise break-up of the fatalities is 153 in Khulna, 107 in Kushtia, 74 in Jashore, 54 in Jhenaidah, 51 in Chuadanga, 44 in Satkhira, 34 in Bagerhat, 24 in Narail,23 in Magura and 19 in Meherpur districts in the division”, she added.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Rasheda Sultana called for wearing masks, maintaining physical distance and abiding by all health safety protocols, set by government to prevent further transmission of COVID-19.
