Premier Division Handball League begins
DHAKA, July 21, 2018 (BSS)- Three matches of the Cute Premier Division Handball League were decided on the opening day today at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
On the opening day’s matches, Quantum Foundation edged past Narinda Pragati Boys Club by 34-33 goals, after leading the first half by 20-15 goals.
In the second match of the day, Prime Sporting Club defeated Old Ideals by 34-15 goals after dominating the first half by 16-08 goals and Dhaka Mariners Youngs Club defeated Victoria Sporting Club 50-12 goals after leading the first half by 23-04 goals.
Earlier, Awami League Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary Harun-Ur Rashid formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. Moushumi Industries (Cute) Limited chairman Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal was present as the special guest.
Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) vice presidents Hasan Ullah Khan Rana and M Nurul Islam, league committee’s chairman and Dhaka Metropolis Deputy Police Commissioner (force and welfare) AB M Masud Hossain, tournament committee’s secretary Jahangir Hossain, were among others, also present on the occasion.
A total of ten clubs are taking part in the league, which is sponsored by Moushumi Industries Limited and organized by BHF.
Participating clubs: Narinda Pragati Boys Club, Prime Sporting Club, Dhaka Mariners Young Club, Arambagh Krira Sangha, Menjis Krira Chaka, Bangla Club, Surjoday, Krira Chakra, Victoria Sporting Club, Old Ideals and Quantum Foundation.
