Hefazat leader Faisal sent to jail
DHAKA, May 2, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent joint general secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam’s Dhaka City unit Mufti Faisal Mahmud Habibi to jail in a case filed in connection with a clash at Baitul Mukarram.
Police produced Faisal before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court today after remand. The investigative officer of the case then requested the court to keep him in jail till the investigation of the case is completed.
Following the plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari ordered for sending Faisal to jail.
Police arrested Mufti Faisal Mahmud from the city’s Demra area on April 28 last.
