210 more worst-affected people get food assistance in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, May 2, 2021 (BSS)- A total of 210 more poor and distressed families were given food support to make them capable of coping with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Each family got 10 kilograms of rice, one kilogram of pulse and one liter of soybean oil.
On behalf of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, district administration distributed the food assistance from its disaster management fund at a simple function at Riverview Collectorate School playground yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil accompanied by Deputy Director of Local Government Division Shahana Akter Jahan and Additional Deputy Commissioners Shariful Haque and Kolayan Chandra distributed the food assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Jalil urged the beneficiaries to follow the health safety guidelines for containing the coronavirus infection.
He said the government has been extending foodstuffs to the hard-hit families amid the lockdown to mitigate their sufferings.
Earlier, 400 poor and distressed families were given food support to make them competent to mitigate their financial hardship being caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
