600 people get assistance in Bhola

BHOLA, May 1, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 600 poor and distressed families were given humanitarian assistance from the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to mitigate their sufferings in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Lalmohan upazila of the district today.

Lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon distributed the government assistance among them at a function held at Sajib Wazed Joy Digital Park ground in the upazila this afternoon as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Al Noman in the chair.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Gias Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Fakhrul Alam, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Abul Hasan Rimon, Municipal Awami League convener Shafiqul Islam Badal and other Awami League leaders and local dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon , MP, said the upazila administration provided the assistance from the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s relief fund and as a part of the government’s instant humanitarian support.

Under the programme, each of the 600 distressed families was given rice, potato, oil, semai and sugar, the sources said.
