RANGPUR, May 1, 2021 (2020) – Rangpur divisional unit of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad started harvesting Boro paddy here on Friday to assist farmers in tackling the farm-labourers’ crisis and make them happy amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Responding to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to stand beside farmers during the pandemic, leaders and workers of the organisation started harvesting Boro paddy to stand beside farmers in the wake of the pandemic.

Being directed by the Chairman of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad, Chairman Raquibur Rahman and its senior leaders, Organising Secretary of district Awami League Abu Talha Biplob inaugurated the Boro paddy harvesting programme.
Former Chief Coordinator of Rangpur divisional unit of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad and its incumbent central committee member Syful Islam Sweet is coordinating the harvesting programme in Rangpur division.
On the inaugural day, 50 leaders and workers of the divisional coordination committee of the organisation harvested Boro paddy on around 50 decimals of land of farmer Shahjahan Mian in Magura village of Kalyani union in Pirgachha upazila of the district.
Abu Talha Biplob said farmers have worked hard to grow their golden crop of Boro paddy on their crop fields this season braving during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Outbreak of the pandemic has led to a farm-labourers’ crisis in Rangpur region during the Boro paddy harvesting season making farmers worried about ripe paddy. The cost of harvesting Boro paddy is also high,” he said.
As per instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, leaders of Rangpur divisional coordinating committee of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad have started harvesting the paddy to benefit the poor and needy farmers.
“The upazila level leaders and workers of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad will stand beside the farmers at the call of the Prime Minister to help them in harvesting their Boro paddy during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
Farmer Shahjahan Mian expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and leaders of Sheikh Russel Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad for harvesting his ripe Boro paddy free of cost to benefit him a lot.
