Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of country

DHAKA, April 30, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and Kushtia and Jashore in the next 24-hour commencing at 9 am.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Kushtia and Jashore in 24-hour till 9am tomorrow,” said a met office bulletin issued here this morning.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.

Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni, Rajshahi and Pabna and it may abate from some places.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 4 mm at Kumarkhali in Khulna division.
Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 38.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna division and minimum temperature today was 21.0 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna division.

Today’s sunset at 6.27 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5.24 am at Dhaka.
