ARREST-HEFAZAT LEADER
Hefazat leader Mufti Harun Izhar arrested
CHATTOGRAM, April 29, 2021 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mufti Harun Izhar from a madrasah in Lalkhan Bazar area of Chattogram on Wednesday midnight.
Md Osman private secretary of Mufti Harun Izhar said that RAB members raided at Jamiatul Uloom Al Islamia Madrasa in Lalkhanbazar in Chattogram at around 12:30 pm last night and arrested Mufti Harun Izhar.
RAB sources said Harun was arrested on Thursday for his alleged links to violence in parts of the country during the celebrations of the golden jubilee of the nation’s independence on March 26, and the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mufti Harun Izhar’s father, Mufti Izhar, is the president of a section of the 20-party Alliance and the Nayeb Amir of the recent defunct Hefazat Committee.
