Hasan urges BNP to stand beside people shunning hatred

DHAKA, April 29, 2021 (BSS)- Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged BNP and Nagarik Oikkya to stand beside the commoners along with the government shunning the politics of hatred.

“I would like to urge Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other leaders of his party-led alliance to stand beside the countrymen and the marginal people like Awami League avoiding the politics of hatred against the government. Please come . . . let us work together for the people,” he said.

The minister made the call while addressing a function of distribution of Eid gifts among the underprivileged children organized by Awami League Dhaka South City (DSC) unit on the premises of Central Shaheed Minar.

Hasan said, “Our door is open. We can work for the people together. It will not be tolerated when you (BNP) will not stand beside the people, but will resort to spreading falsehood and rumours. Untruth is never acceptable.”

The minister said the government of Prime Minister is the government of working people. Her (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) party stands beside the marginal people, said Hasan, also AL joint general secretary.

On the other hand, he said, BNP and their friends don’t stand beside the people and talked with journalists virtually from behind the scene.

About the Nagarik Oikkya, he said, few people form human chain in front of the Press Club, he added.

He said they (Nagarik Oikkya) orchestrate hatred in the human chain against the government, but don’t distribute daily essentials to the needy people.

The minister urged them to stand beside the country’s people.

AL Dhaka South City general secretary Humayun Kabir, vice presidents Advocate Nurul Amin Ruhul and Sharfuddin Ahmed Sentu, joint general secretary Murshed Kamal and publicity secretary Aktar Hossain, among others, addressed the function with its president valiant Freedom Fighter Abu Ahmed Mannafi in the chair.
