Rajshahi City Corporation has established the slaughterhouse at Shaheb Bazar Kitchen Market on its own initiative and cost for ensuring safe supply of meat side by side with hygienic management of slaughterhouse wastes.

City Corporation authority opened the slaughter house formally today. Panel Mayor Shariful Islam Babu addressed the opening ceremony as chief guest with Ward Councilor Nuruzzaman Tuku in the chair.

Ward Councilors Towhidul Haque, Abdus Sobhan Liton and Ayesha Khatun, Chief Engineer Shariful Haque, Chief Health Officer Dr Anjuman Ara Begum and Veterinary Surgeon Dr Farid Uddin also spoke.

This facility will be environment-friendly and people will be able to get safe meat here, he added.
