KHULNA, April 29, 2021(BSS) – Khulna deputy commissioner (DC)Md Helal Hossain today distributed sewing machines among 25 jobless women and rickshaw-van among 20 poor people to minimize the present adverse impact, caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the city today.
Khulna District Administration organised the programme at the DC’s conference room with DC Helal Hossain in the chair.
Law maker of Khulna-2 constituency Sheikh Salahuddin Zewel virtually attended the programme as chief guest.
The DC disbursed the sewing machines and rickshaw-van to 25 female and 20 male aimed at mitigating their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation by strictly maintaining health safety guidelines and physical distancing.
Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad and Khulna district unit Awami League president Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, General secretary of city unit Awami League MDA Babul Rana, Deputy Director of local government in Khulna Md Iqbal Hossain, Khulna Press Club President S M Zahid Hossain, Khulna Journalists Union President Munshi Mahbub Alam Sohag, among others, were present on the occasion .
