RAJSHAHI, April 28, 2021(BSS)- Police in overnight anti-crime raids arrested a person with huge fake foreign branded cosmetics from Sagarpara area under Boalia Police Station in the city last night.
The arrested person was identified as Shawkat Ali, 38, son of Awal Ali Khandaker of Koira Soratola area in Ullapara Upazila of Sirajganj district.
On a tip-off, a Detective Branch (DB) team of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police seized a bulk amount of fake cosmetics worth around Taka 4.52 lakh after searching the rented house of Shawkat Ali at Sagarpara area.
DB Deputy Commissioner Arefin Jewel told BSS that the arrested person has been manufacturing the forged cosmetics and supplying those to various beauty parlors, gents parlor, saloon and cosmetics shops for long.
