DHAKA, April 27, 2021 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque today said Bangladesh has sufficient amount of oxygen to tackle the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

“No reason to be panicked over medical oxygen….adequate amount of oxygen has been stocked in country’s health sector,” he told a view exchange meeting with journalists on “Second wave of COVID-19 tackling and awareness” at the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) here, an official release said.

The minister said at present, demand of oxygen is 100 to 150 tonnes in Bangladesh while it produced roughly 500 tonnes of oxygen.

“So, the country would not face any scarcity of medical oxygen even if our demand doubles to treat coronavirus patients,” he added.
