Netrakona dist admin distributes food items among transport workers
NETRAKONA, April 26, 2021 (BSS) – Netrakona district administration today distributed essential food items among 550 transport workers here to mitigate their livelihood related sufferings triggered by lockdown amid Coronavirus pandemic.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Netrakona Kazi Mohammad Abdur Rahman handed over 550 relief packets which contained rice, pulse, edible oil, salt and potatoes to the 550 transport workers at local stadium following health guidelines.
During distribution of food items, the DC urged upon the transport workers to abide by the health guidelines including wearing masks and using sanitizers to save them from Coronavirus infection.
He said distribution of essential food items among the jobless and poor people would be continued by the district administration as per directives of the government so that none would face food crisis during the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
The District administration arranged the distribution of food items packets with the help of relief and disaster management ministry, the DC added.
Deputy director of local government department Zia Ahmed Sumon, additional district magistrate Suhel Mahmud, additional deputy commissioner (general) Abdullah -AL-Mahmud, general secretary of district Red crescent society Gazi Muzammel Hussain Tuku and general secretary of Netrakona Press club Muklesur Rahman Khan were present at the distribution program.
