YANGON, July 20, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – Eight bodies of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) armed group were recovered after a truck fell into a ravine in northern Myanmar, Myanmar News Agency reported Friday.

Last week clashes occurred between security forces and 30 members of the TNLA in Namkham, northern Shan state.

The eight bodies including three women were found from a light track carrying at least 11 people that crashed down into a ravine.

Some weapons were also recovered from the truck.

The truck owner and three others were reportedly in the vehicle when the incident took place.

They were traveling with the truck to buy provisions in Namkham when the TNLA armed group members hitched a ride.

The owner and another one were both wounded on the arm and leg and are being treated in a nearby hospital, the armed forces’ information sources was quoted as saying.

TNLA is a non-signatory armed group to the government’s Nationwide Cease fire Accord (NCA).
