12,000 farmers get incentive for Aush farming in Bhola

BHOLA, April 23, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 12,000 small and marginal farmers get seed and fertilizer as incentives worth around Taka 1.05crore for the cultivation of Aush paddy in the current Kharif-1 season in district.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said we have distributed the incentives among the farmers to inspire them for cultivating Aush paddy and boosting its production.

Each of the farmers got five kilograms of improved quality Aush paddy seed, 20kgs of Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizers and 10kgs of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizers for Aush paddy cultivation on one bigha of land each free of cost under the government’s agricultural incentive programme, Deputy Director of DAE of the district Abu Md. Enayet Ullah said.

Abul Kashem, a farmer of West Ilisha Union under Sadar Upazila, received the incentives and expressed his gratitude to the government for standing beside them. Another marginal farmer Abdul Hai Gazi, of West Ilisha Union under Sadar upazila of the district is now happy after getting the incentives.

“We have already completed the incentive distribution activities in Sadar upazila,” said Md. Riazuddin, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer of the district.

Deputy Director of DAE of the district Abu Md. Enayet Ullah said that the incentives distribution was almost completed successfully everywhere in the district.

He said the agricultural incentives will help boost Aush paddy production as the country’s total production will be enhanced while the government has attached highest priority to the agriculture sector.

Enayet Ullah said the Aush farming is very much cost effective as it requires less production cost and faces less natural calamity.

Target has also been set to bring 99,490 hectares of land for Aush paddy this season, he added.
