SYLHET, April 23, 2021 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases crossed the 20,000-mark as 124 more new patients were reported positive in the last 24 hours in Sylhet division.
The infection rate continues rising hastily again in recent days as a total of 296 patients are now undergoing treatment in the dedicated corona isolation hospitals here.
Among the newly detected COVID-19 patients, 110 are in Sylhet, 9 in Moulovibazar, one in Habiganj and 10 in Sunamganj districts in the division, Sylhet regional Health Director Dr. Sultana Razia confirmed BSS today.
The infection toll now stands at 20,072 where the recovery rate stands at 70.31 in the division.
The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 18,129 as 188 are recovered in last 24 hours in the division till this noon.
Among the total infected persons, 12,821 are in Sylhet, 2,702 in Sunamganj, 2,285 in Habiganj and 2,265 in Moulovibazar districts.
