13 fined for violating lockdown rules in Cumilla

CUMILLA, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – A mobile court here today fined thirteen business establishments Taka 14,400 in Chandina upazila of the district for breaching Covid-19 safety rules and violating the conditions of the ongoing lockdown to prevent corona infection.

Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Vibhishan Kanti Das conducted the raids at various places including Chandina Bazar area of the upazila this morning and fined 13 business establishments Taka 14, 400 for keeping business establishments open in the market of the ongoing lockdown.

UNO Vibhishan Kanti Das told BSS that the number of corona infected people is increasing each day as people are reluctant in maintaining health guidelines.

The upazila administration is conducting mobile courts to create awareness among people about COVID-19. As part of its awareness campaign, the mobile court distributed masks among people free of cost.

The mobile court will continue to prevent anti-lockdown activities, the UNO added.
