19 more test positive for COVID-19 in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 19 more people– 11 male and eight female– were tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours raising the total number of infections to 919 in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 17 are from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila and two others from Shibganj upazila.
Chapainawabganj Civil Surgeon Office received the result of 53 samples last night from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Lab, said Dr. Jahid Nazrul Chowdhury, civil surgeon (CS) of the district.
The result shows that 35.84 percent of the total samples were detected positive, he added.
“With the new detected patients, the total Covid-19 cases of the district now stands at 69 in Sadar upazila, 16 in Shibganj upazila, three in Bholahat upazila and one in Nachole upazila while 816 have, so far, been cured from the lethal virus and 14 have died,” the health official said.
Among the infected people, 15 have now been taking treatment at the Corona unit of Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital while 74 others sent to home quarantine to prevent community transmission of the deadly virus (COVID-19), Dr. Jahid further said.
