No leniency in mayhem on BD’s golden jubilee Independence celebration : Nanak

DHAKA, April 20, 2021 (BSS) – Making a clarion call for stronger unity against those perpetrators who tried to mislead the people in the name of religion, Awami League presidium member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said there is no scope of showing weakness to those who tried to instable the country on country’s golden jubilee of the Independence celebration by resorting anarchy, arson and making bloodshed on the national mosque premises.

The ruling party leader said this as the chief guest while inaugurating free oxygen service for the corona patients in the city’s Kalabagan playground.

Nanak said those who want to misguide the country’s virtuous people in the name of religion are ‘crafty devils’ and they will not be spared .

“We all must be united and resist them at any cost ” he told the function, organized by the Awami Swechchasebok League.

Pointing to BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the Awami League presidium member said the party [BNP] is now absolutely secluded from the people due to their ill politics, thus the supporters are not responding to call for any movement of the party.

Nanak categorically told the function that none will be spared who are trying to destabilize the country’s law and order and involved in activities like chaos, anarchy and violence .

Terming Jamaat, BNP and Hefazat as identical in terms of ideology, Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said these three parties are same feathers of a bird which are anti-Bangladesh, anti-liberation, anti-national anthem and anti-national flag.

“They want to turn Bangladesh into Pakistan,” Nasim spoke as special guest in the function.

“None would be allowed to commit anarchy by using religion as shield …the government has taken stricter stance against the terrorists and will bring them to the book in accordance with the existing law of the land, ” he said, adding that the character of secular Bangladesh will no way be dampened .

Chaired by Swechachasebok League president Nirmol Ranjan, the meeting was also attended among others, by Swechachasebok League vice-president M Razzaque, its joint general secretary Mobasser Chowdhury and Kairul Hasan Jewel, Organizing secretary Krishibid AFM Mahbubul Hasan, office secretary Azizul Haque Aziz and publication secretary KM Monwarul Islam Bipul.

Swechachasebok League General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu moderated the function.
