One held with gold bar in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, April 19, 2021(BSS) – Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested one suspected smuggler along with two gold bars worth around Taka 24.50 lakh from Shikri Sardarbari border area under Sadar upazila of the district in the early hours of today.
The arrested was identified as Nurul Islam, 55, son of Mojibur Rahman, resident of Baikari Chayagharia village under Sadar upazila of the district.
On a tip-off, a patrol team of BGB conducted a drive in the area and arrested Nurul Islam along with two gold bars and a Hero Honda motorcycle from the spot, said BGB 33-BattalionCommander Lt Col Mohammad Al-Mahmud.
The value of the seized gold bar is estimated worth Taka 24.50 lakh.
Later, he was handed over to the Satkhira Sadar Police Station, he added.
