DHAKA, April 16, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today sent to jail central assistant publicity secretary of Hefajat-e-Islam Mufti Shafiulllah in a case lodged in 2013 for carrying out attack on police with the aim to murder the law enforcement agency members.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara passed the order, scrapping a bail plea filed for the accused.
Earlier, the police produced Shafiullah before the court after end of his one-day remand in the case filed with Jatrabari Police Station, and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the conclusion of the probe in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayeed on April 14 placed the accused on one-day remand as police pleaded for seven-day remand in the case lodged under Special Powers Act.
Detective branch (DB) police’s Wari Division on April 13 arrested Shafiullah from Mirhajirbagh area under Jatrabari Police Station.
