‘Corona Management Guidelines’ to be made to tackle COVID-19: Tajul
DHAKA, April 15, 2021 (BSS) – Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam today said that ‘Corona Management Guidelines’ will be prepared for all organizations under the Local Government Department to tackle COVID-19 and keep the development works running in the country.
He made the remarks virtually at a view exchanging meeting with mayors and senior officials of all city corporations of the country on the ongoing corona infection prevention and development activities from his government residence on Mintu Road in the capital.
The minister said that the coronavirus (COVID-19), which has spread all over the world, does not seem to be eradicated soon as the health experts have given hints in this regard.
Therefore, it has been decided to formulate the Corona Management Guidelines to run the development activities of all the organizations under the Local Government Department such as City Corporation, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Department of Public Health and Engineering (DPHE), WASA, Municipality, Upazila and District Council smoothly, he added.
The guidelines will include plans to address various development projects, especially income generating and productive activities, he said.
Mayors or representatives of 12 city corporations of the country including the mayors of Dhaka North and South City Corporations took part in the online meeting.
At the meeting, all the mayors appreciated all the government endeavors to tackle corona epidemic and expressed their determination to work as per the instructions of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Tajul.
Meanwhile, the mayors of the city corporations also informed the local government minister about the progress of the ongoing development projects.
