In a condolence message, the speaker prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, said a press release here.
In separate condolence messages, Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of veteran freedom fighter Abdul Matin Khasru.
Matin Khasru breathed his last at around 4:45pm while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
He was put on life support yesterday at the CMH as his health condition deteriorated.
The five-time lawmaker from Cumilla-5, gave sample for Covid-19 test on March 15 and on March 16 he was diagnosed as coronavirus positive and admitted to CMH.
He was elected SCBA president for 2021-2022 on March 11.
