Kamal, Mannan condole Khasru’s death
DHAKA, April 14, 2021 (BSS) – Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and
Planning Minister MA Mannan today expressed profound shock and sorrow
at the death of former law minister and Supreme Court Bar Association
(SCBA) president Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru.
In separate condolence messages, both the Finance Minister and
Planning Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and
conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Khasru, the newly elected president of the Supreme Court Bar
Association, breathed his last at 4.45 pm at the age of 71 at the
Combined Military Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment
with COVID-19 infection since March 16.
A five-time MP from Cumilla-5 constituency, Khasru served the Awami
League government as the law minister from 1996 to 2001.
Abul Matin Khasru, also presidium member of Awami League, was a
freedom fighter and the commander of Burichang in Cumilla during the
Liberation War in 1971.
