5,493 receive 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccines in Khulna

KHULNA, Apr 13, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 5,493 people received COVID-19 vaccines in the Khulna today as the second dose vaccination campaign was launched on April 7.

Of them, a total of 2,621 people received the vaccines in city corporation area and 2,872 people received in nine upazilas of Khulna district, said Khulna civil surgeon (CS) Dr Niaz Mohammad to BSS today.

Besides, a total of 18,967 people received second dose corona vaccination in the city and district so far.

Of them, 13,373 male received coronavirus vaccine while 5,594 female received the vaccine.

“The vaccination drive was conducted at two hospitals in Khulna city and nine upazila hospitals in the city,” the CS said, adding that the immunization programme will begin at 8 am and continue till 3.30 pm every day.

Besides, the first dose of coronavirus inoculation is continuing in Khulna two public hospitals and nine upazila health complex. A total of 899 people received first dose vaccine today, said Khulna CS Dr Niaz Mohammad.

Of them, 338 people received vaccine in city corporation area while 561 in nine upazila in the district. A total of 1, 70,893 people received first dose of coronavirus vaccine so far, after it launching on February 7 this year.

Of them, 1, 01,319 male received corona vaccine while 69,574 female received corona vaccine.
