Followers of 3 Darbar Sharifs start fasting from today in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, April 13, 2021 (BSS)- The Followers of Mirzarkhill Darbar Sharif of Satkania upazila, Chilcilia Aliya Jahangir Peer and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazila started fasting (Ramadan) from today in line with their tradition, heritage and time of the Middle East.
The followers of Mirzakhill and Shahsufi of Elahabad Darbar Sharif started their fasting every year before one or two days ahead after sighting the new moon in the country, Darbar sources informed.
The villages where fasting started from today are Patiya, Chandanaish, Satkania, Anwara, Banskhali, Chakaria, Sitakhunda, Feni and Fatikchhari.
Meanwhile, at least 2,000 followers of Chilcilia Alia Jahangir Peer Darbar Sharif and Momtajir Darbar Sharif under Chandanaish upazila have also started fasting from today.
Talking to BSS Nazrul Islam, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Satkania said that Ramadan and Eid are being celebrated in some villages in the region in line with Saudi Arabia from year after year.
The administration is keeping strong vigilance to ensure that the mosque authorities perform their respective prayers and maintain health rules to prevent the spread of lethal corona virus, he added.
