Dhaka, April 13, 2021 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today urged all to be vocal against communalism.

He said while distributing agricultural incentives, fertilizers, seeds and agricultural machinery among local farmers at an inaugural function, organized by Nazirpur Upazila Administration in Pirojpur, as the chief guest, said a press release.

“We all have to be vocal and strict action would be taken against those who are trying to destroy secular Bangladesh through militancy by creating instability,” the minister said.

“Bangladesh has been resolved through the victory of non-communalism in the great Liberation War of 1971, it is a country of non-communal power and we are Bengalis which is the identity of our nationality,” he said.

“Freedom fighters fought under the leadership of Bangabandhu, then it was decided that this was not a country of communal evil power but a non-communal power,” he added.

Mentioning that no other government has done what Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina’s government have done in the development of Islam, the minister said adding, “Sheikh Hasina is currently working for the development and expansion of Islam, she is also working for other religions.”

The Minister directed the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries officials to assist the farmers during the corona pandemic. He warned that not a single person could complain that he did not get any help from the government staff.

Nazirpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Obaidur Rahman presided over the function while Engineer Zakir Hossain Mia, Upazila Agriculture Officer Digbijay Hajra, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Gautam Mandal were present, among others.
