DHAKA, April 12, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 22,456 people were administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines while 13,88,79 received the second dose of the vaccine across the country today.
Among the vaccine recipients, who received 1st dose, 13,628 were male and 8,828 female, while those who received the second dose, 93,534 were male and 45,345 were female, according to the data of Management Information System of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
As of April 12, the number of vaccine receivers given the first dose of vaccine was 56,49,563. Among the vaccine receivers, 35,02,753 are male and 21,46,810 female. Besides, a total of 52,25,96 people received the second dose of the vaccine, of them 36,49,04 are male and 15,76,92 female as the countrywide
vaccination campaign was launched on February 7.
People aged 40 years and above now can get registered to receive COVID- 19 vaccines, the health ministry sources said.
The vaccination drive was conducted at 50 hospitals in Dhaka city and
1,005 hospitals outside the capital today, the DGHS said, adding that the
immunization programme will begin at 8am and it will continue till 2.30 pm
every day.
But some hospitals will continue the vaccination programme throughout the
day, the health official said.
The inoculation would be administered among people in government hospitals
up to upazila-level while 70,58,999 people got registered till 5.30pm today.
