DHAKA, April 12, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed Hefajat-e-Islam Organising Secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi on seven-day remand in a case lodged over 2013 mayhem at Shapla Chattar in the capital and its adjacent areas by his group.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case lodged under Paltan Police Station.
Detective Branch (DB) of Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a joint drive arrested Azizul Haque on April 11.
A total of five cases were filed against Azizul Haque Islamabadi for his role in the May 5 and 6, 2013, mayhem in the city by Hefajat-e-Islam. He was shown arrested in one of those cases today.
