2,029 take second dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, April 11, 2021 (BSS) – A total of 2,029 people took the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine up to Saturday said Dr. Rafiqun Nahar Banna, Medical Officer at Civil Surgeon Office here today.

The second dose of COVID-19 vaccination started on Thursday with administering those to Deputy Commissioner S M Ferdous, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rifat Rahman Shamim and Civil Surgeon Dr. Anwarul Amin Akonda at the Manikganj 250-bed Hospital Nursing Institute Center.

The vaccination is continuing at the Manikganj 250-bed hospital, Police Line, Colonel Malek Medical College and each of the six Upazila Health Complexes.

Civil Surgeon Office sources said a total of 47488 first doses of vaccines out of 48,000 have already been administered.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Anwarul Amin Akonda said vaccination of both the first and second doses would concurrently continue.

A total of 51 patients were detected with COVID-19 positive in January, 15 in February, 95 in March and 98 up to the 10 of the current month, sources said, adding that the number of death from the disease stands at 37 so far.
