Call for controlling COVID-19 infection in Rangpur
RANGPUR, April 11, 2021 (BSS) – Officials and experts at a meeting here on Saturday afternoon called upon all concerned for working in a well-coordinated manner to implement the overall activities for controlling the COVID-19 infection.
They put maximum emphasis on the implementation of overall monitoring and cooperation activities, including ensuring isolation of coronavirus infected persons in homes and institutions, in Rangpur metropolis as well as across the district.
Organised by the district administration, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of District Coronavirus Prevention and Control Committee Md. Asib Ahsan presided over the meeting at his conference room in the city.
Representatives and experts of various governmental and non-governmental organizations, including Police Department, Health Department, Rangpur City Corporation and voluntary organizations attended the meeting.
Participants discussed the progress achieved so far in implementation of the overall activities as per guidelines of the government to face the second wave of the coronavirus amid its hastily rising trend in recent weeks.
The deputy commissioner stressed engaging comprehensive efforts to execute the monitoring and cooperation activities, including ensuring isolation of coronavirus infected persons in homes and institutions to face the situation.
“The authorities, committees and organizations concerned should work sincerely to inspire people in abiding by the health directives, maintaining social distancing and home isolation of infected persons and wearing masks to contain the virus spread,” he said.
