Cabinet members mourn death of Hasan Shahriar
DHAKA, April 10, 2021 (BSS) – A number of cabinet members today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former president of Jatiya Press Club and noted journalist Hasan Shahriar.
In separate condolence messages, the ministers and state minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
The cabinet members who condoled the death of Hasan Shahriar included Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mostafa Jabbar, Minister of Science and Technology Yeafesh Osman and State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hasan.
Veteran journalist Hasan Shahriar passed away at the age of 74 while undergoing treatment at a city hospital today.
Hasan breathed his last at Impulse Hospital at around 12 noon, immediate past president of JPC Saiful Alam told BSS.
Shahriar, also a two-term president of Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA), was admitted to the hospital at around 1:30 am on Friday with symptoms of coronavirus.
